Pupils return from Egypt
A group of pupils from Shapwick School recently returned from an art and history trip to Egypt.
The pupils (from Year 11 and Sixth Form) enjoyed an eight day cruise which included a visit to the spectacular Temple at Edfu, a visit to the High Dame, the Old Granite Quarries and the Temple of Philae on Philae Island.
Fun entertainment was provided during the evening, which included a fancy dress where everyone dressed up in a galabiya (a kind of kaftan) and head scarves for dinner and the ‘Galabiya’ games party and also an Egyptian style Treasure Hunt.
