Shapwick School is delighted to offer its premises for hire to organisations that would benefit from its impressive facilities and rural location. The premises are available during any school vacation period, weekends or evenings.

As the website demonstrates Shapwick School has impressive residential/boarding facilities, teaching facilities/classrooms, playing fields, tennis court, games room and sports hall, to name but a few.

The school is fully equipped with the latest technology, such as interactive whiteboards in most classrooms, and has a number of IT suites. Catering can be provided for all bookings according to need, e.g. tea/coffee through to three course meals. All dietary needs can be accommodated.

The school premises are ideal for a range of purposes, which may be for a one-off event or a regular weekly booking, for instance:

Holiday camps

Shapwick is situated on the delightful Somerset levels, and is ideally placed for many activities, making it a popular choice for a residential holiday camp. Shapwick is a small, rural village and the nearest major settlement is Street which is approximately five miles away. The school site is approximately 20 minutes drive from junction 23 of the M5.

All of the following attractions are 30 minutes drive (or less) from Shapwick School:
• An indoor and outdoor swimming pool in Street
• Cheddar caves and Gorge
• Clarks Village factory shopping complex in Street
• Fantastic walks across the Somerset levels
• Glastonbury Abbey
• Glastonbury Tor
• Taunton – the county town of Somerset which boasts most leading high street names, a bowling complex, cinema, theatre, swimming and leisure centres.
• The seaside resort of Weston Super Mare
• Wells Cathedral
• Wookey Hole

Shapwick is a very popular choice for group bookings that enjoy using the campus facilities for organised activities and visiting the numerous tourist attractions in the local area. Groups can choose to hire both the Prep and Senior campuses which are approximately five minutes apart.

Shapwick can accommodate up to 120 people in its boarding facilities and can offer school transport (plus driver) if required. Groups may hire the premises on a self-catering or all-inclusive basis.

Shapwick School is available for four weeks during the Christmas vacation, three weeks during the Easter vacation plus eight weeks during the summer. Please check the event calendar section of the website to confirm the annual dates.
