Eco Schools Switch Off Fortnight

21st Nov - 4th Dec

Across both sites at Shapwick School students particpated in our "Switch Off" campaign to encourage energy saving. This was kicked off by inviting in a team from Carymoor Environmental Trust to carry out an Assembly followed by hands on workshops.

Students experienced an informative Assembly followed up by interactive "Cut the Carbon" quizzes and competitions to design the most efficient wind turbines as a source of renewable energy.  Students at the Prep site also had the opportunity to use an energy bike.  These activities were perfect for our students and everyone learned more about saying "Goodbye to Standby" and about "Switching on to Switching Off".

A big thank you to Beth, Neil and Juliet from Carymoor, Castle Cary, Somerset.

The fortnight- long campaign also involved energy saving related competitions, audits of our energy useage and further activities that relate to energy and fuel.
