Catering
Shapwick Prep pupils enjoy a wide range of culinary delights by a team of dedicated catering professionals.
Cooked meals are provided three times a day, five days a week, with a more flexible provision at the weekends to allow for the many off site activities provided. Meals are cooked on the premises using local, fresh produce. Children eat all meals in the school dining room, where good table manners are encouraged with staff dining with the pupils. Children assist with dedicated duties.
Most dietary needs are catered for. Pupils are involved in designing the menu which includes a hot meal choice plus a salad bar at lunchtime, and a lighter hot option for tea.
Pupils are encouraged to eat their ‘five a day’ and learn the importance of health and nutrition within the curriculum.
