Day Pupils

Shapwick School welcomes pupils to attend on a daily basis and a large number of pupils from the local area do attend on this basis.

Day pupils share every aspect of school life with the boarders and receive every bit as much care and attention. Shapwick does not operate separate day houses, so the day pupils are fully integrated with the rest of the School.

At the Prep School the day begins at 8.50 am and lasts until 5.00 pm Monday to Friday with an extensive programme of lessons, sports and activities. As there are no lessons on Saturdays day pupils do not attend school. Shapwick Prep is very flexible with regard to timings and some day pupils have breakfast and/or tea at school with the boarders due to family commitments.

The Senior School day begins at 8.55 am and day pupils are expected to arrive at school in good time for the start of the day. The day finishes at 5.25 pm Monday to Friday after a full programme of lessons, sports and activities; and 12.35 pm on Saturdays at which time parents may collect their son/daughter.
