Sixth Form Student Support Assistant

Reporting to and Purpose of the Post:

Supporting students with in Shapwick School and College. Reporting to Student Coordinator and KS5 Team Leader.

Principal Duties:

This is an overview of the role and there may be additional duties that you will need to undertake to meet student needs.

  1. 16 hours per week
  2. Assisting students in the organisation of their work; Support with planning essays and creating mind-maps with students; Assisting in research and assignment structure; Reading through assignments and correcting grammar and spelling and providing explanations for changes.
  3. Communication as appropriate with in the supportive role to feed back to Student Coordinators. 
  4. Supporting students on assistive technology/software.
  5. Record and feedback daily student academic, pastoral and motivational support to Student Coordinator.
  6. Maintaining professional relationships with students and challenge poor behaviour.
  7. Safeguarding - Keeping track of students.
  8. Transporting sixth form students when required.
  9. Any other duties as directed by the Student Coordinators.

 

Assistant Houseparent required – 32 hours per week

  • to uphold the beliefs and values of Shapwick School
  • to secure and prioritise the welfare, safety and happiness of our pupils at all times and to be sensitive to individual needs.

Enthusiastic people required to help support our Houseparent teams across the age groups of the school.  We have 3 single gender boarding houses which cover ages 14 – 18 years and a single boarding house for our younger pupils, aged 8-13years.  Successful applicants should have the relevant Level 3 award in Care of Children and Young People as required by the minimum standard or a willingness to undergo this course at the School’s expense

Hours:

Monday to Friday - 6-11pm Senior School or 5-11pm Prep School

Saturday/Sunday 8am-11pm 

Pay: Starting Pay £8 per hour
