Deputy Head of Care

Shapwick School is seeking an excellent, well-qualified and highly motivated Deputy Head of Care to be part of leading and developing our pastoral provision across the residential boarding provision of students aged 8-19.  Commencing September 2019

The successful candidate will have a passion for the care of young people and be able to support students in achieving their own pastoral potential

Contract Type:    Permanent 40 hours per week, including evenings and weekends

Contract Term:   Full Time, permanent contract

Salary:                   Annual salary £23,000 - £26,000 depending upon experience and qualification

Part time KS2 Teacher

Speech and Language Therapist

We are seeking an experienced and innovative Speech and Language Therapist required to join our existing dynamic Therapy Team consisting of 3 other Speech and Language Therapists and 2 Occupational Therapists

The successful candidate will provide assessment and therapy to pupils, input and training to the school staff teams (academic and pastoral) and give advice to parents at this specialist school for pupils with Specific Learning Difficulties


  • Registered member of RCSLT
  • Registered member of HCPC
  • Knowledge and experience of high functioning ASD desirable
  • Knowledge of SpLD
  • Experience of running Social Communication Group desirable

Contract Type:  The post is for five days per week, term time only, plus inset days (5 per year), initially 19 hours per week, with the potential for this to increase over time

Band 6 post, Point dependent on experience


Occupational Therapist

We are seeking an experienced and innovative  Occupational Therapist to join our existing dynamic Therapy Team. 

Essential to the role:           Member of RCOT and HCPC

Desirable attributes:           Qualification or specialism in Sensory Processing Disorder

Contract Type:  20 hours per week, term time only plus inset days (5 per year), - September start

Possibility of increased hours as caseload develops

Band 6 post

6th Form LSA

We are looking for a Learning Support Assistant to work with our 6th Form Students

Hours:  Approximately 15 hrs a week dependent on student needs

Salary:   £8.33 per annum


Cover Supervisor

Shapwick School is seeking an excellent, well-qualified and highly motivated Cover Supervisor.

We are looking for someone to organise cover for each day, and to be able to provide cover themselves; to lead enrichment activities; to register our pupils; assist with break/lunch duties and to escort younger pupils between school sites.

The successful candidate will be organised and flexible to meet the ever-changing needs of the School.

Contract Type:  Minimum of 30 hours per week Monday - Friday (term time only) – some flexibility for Saturday cover would be advantageous

Contract Term:  One year fixed initially

Salary:                  Competitive, commensurate with experience

Meal Time Assistant

We require a Meal Time Assistant

Hours:      8am until 9.15am Breakfast

                   1pm until 2pm Lunch

                   5pm until 6pm Dinner

Monday to Friday Term Time Only
