Speech and Language Therapist

We are seeking an experienced and innovative Speech and Language Therapist required to join our existing dynamic Therapy Team consisting of 4 other Speech and Language Therapists and 2 Occupational Therapists

The successful candidate will provide assessment and therapy to pupils, input and training to the school staff teams (academic and pastoral) and give advice to parents at this specialist school for pupils with Specific Learning Difficulties

Requirements:

  • Registered member of RCSLT
  • Registered member of HCPC
  • Knowledge and experience of high functioning ASD desirable
  • Knowledge of SpLD
  • Experience of running Social Communication Group desirable

Contract Type:  Initially the post is for four days but there is likely to be potential for this to increase over time.  Term time only, plus inset days (6 per year) - part time will be considered

Band 5/6 post, Point dependent on experience

Head of Therapy

Assistant Houseparent

Enthusiastic people required to help support our Houseparent teams across the age groups of the school.  We have 3 single gender boarding houses which cover ages 14 – 18 years and a single boarding house for our younger pupils, aged 8-13years.  Successful applicants should have the relevant Level 3 award in Care of Children and Young People as required by the minimum standard or a willingness to undergo this course at the School’s expense.

  • to carry out professional duties and responsibilities as reasonably directed by the Head of Care and Resident Houseparents
  • to uphold the beliefs and values of Shapwick School
  • to secure and prioritise the welfare, safety and happiness of our pupils at all times and to be sensitive to individual needs.

Hours:  
Monday to Friday - 5.45 - 11.00 pm Senior School or 5.00 - 11 pm Prep School
Saturday/Sunday  8.00 am - 11.00 pm
