"Further to my conversation today with Mrs. Kingham, I would like to express my thanks for the very useful discussion, and also to the school and staff in general for the care and consideration they so clearly put into the education of the children in their charge. Georgia is growing in confidence daily and says how much she loves the school. The ability to make the learning experience structured yet enjoyable for children who struggle in mainstream is testament to the knowledge available and accessed through the gifted teachers and therapists at this school."
"Shapwick School was the only dyslexic school out of 5 we visited that offered a totally holistic approach in that it focused on self esteem, academic, creative, social skills, speech & language and sport. After only 6 months, our son won the Maths Prize at Prize Giving for improving in maths by 56 months. We were so proud and happy – but more importantly; HE was proud and happy. He is a different boy now – our only regret is that we did not move him here earlier."
"Choosing Shapwick was easy. After the taster day he said he felt like he “fitted in” and that every lesson was like having his ‘one to one’ SEN teacher from his previous school."
"We are convinced his progress and confidence is due to the input he has received over the years at the school."
"Just wanted to let you know, we spoke with Jody last night for the first time since she joined Shapwick. Well..... confident, happy, enthusing about the lessons, her new friends, the merit tie and badge, the fact someone thought she would be very good at hockey (when foot allows). Jody discussed the weekend outing and the fun everyone had. She told us about her therapy and the fact she would be having this four times per week. She was like a new person, happy, confident, believing in herself. When I asked if she could now understand her lessons better because of the way the teachers taught her, she replied it was much better, I can understand it now, it is really good. What a joy..... cannot thank you enough"
