School Receives CReSTeD Accreditation

Shapwick School are delighted to have been accredited as a CReSTeD school for a further three years.

The school has held the prestigious accreditation, from The Council for the Registration of Schools Teaching Dyslexic Pupils, for more than 20 year and is thrilled that the standards of education provided for children and young people with specific learning difficulties has been recognised by its continued registration with the organisation as a specialist dyslexia provision.

The aim of CReSTeD is to help parents and also those who advise them to choose an educational establishment for children with Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD). All schools and centres included in the Register are visited regularly to ensure they continue to meet the criteria set by CReSTeD.

Head teacher at Shapwick School Adrian Wylie said: "We know how important it is that parents have a benchmark for quality when choosing a school, especially when their child may need specialist support in their education.

"We want to be an excellent provider of education for young people with specific learning difficulties, a centre of excellence and specialism where we can meet the individual needs of every young person here.

"We’re delighted that CReSTeD have continued our registration with them as a specialist dyslexia educational provider and the reassurance that gives to parents and students looking for the best possible learning environments for young people with dyslexia."

Shapwick is a specialist school providing an educational environment for prep and senior school students on a day and boarding basis.
